Reserving a spot on the ferry
On this route we are able to guarantee a spot up to a certain percentage of the ferry’s capasity:
- 30% of the capasity to/from Værøy and Røst
- 50% of the capasity to/from Bodø and Moskenes
The price of reserving a spot will be added to the ordinary ticket price.

Important information regarding reserving a spot
It is not mandatory to book the ticket in advance of your journey, and it is only a certain percentage of the boats capasity that are available to reserve in advance.
Reserved journeys must be payed before the booking is made and booked via our website.
If you have made a booking for a reserved spot you must be in the queue marked as “Reserved/Prepaid” 45 minutes before departure.
For passengers without a vehicle there is 20 available tickets to buy for guaranteed seating every departure. You can only book 2 of these tickets at a time and you must be present 45 minutes before departure to register.
The booking for reserved spots must be made before 20:00 the day before departure.
If you are traveling without a vehicle and you do not want to book a reserved spot, the journey is free of charge. You only need to be at the port before departure.
About this route
These routes experience very high traffic during peak seasons. Travelers to the islands (Røst and Værøy) will be prioritized when there is a high demand. It is recommended that travelers between Bodø and Moskenes use the direct routes to avoid being left behind at the dock.
Booking
It is possible to book and reserve a portion of the capacity per departure (30% of the capacity to/from Værøy and Røst, 50% of the capacity on Bodø - Moskenes). For sold-out departures, you can show up at the dock and join the regular queue.
If you have pre-booked a ticket, you must arrive at the dock at least 45 minutes before departure.
Passenger Registration
For routes exceeding 20 nautical miles, we are required to register the personal information of each passenger onboard the ferry. You will find a QR code for registration at all docks.

Where should I stand if I have a reservation?
You should stand in the reservations field. These are the innermost lanes, marked with “reservert” on the signs at the entrance.
Where should I stand if I don’t have a ticket?
Then you should stand in the first available lane that is not marked with “reservert”. This is usually lane 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5.
How do I buy a ticket if I don’t already have one?
Wait in your vehicle in the queue. A queue attendant will come to your car and arrange the ticket for you.
What should I do if I don’t have a vehicle (on foot or by bike)?
Scan the QR code and enter your passenger information. Then wait down by the ferry in the queue zone until you are instructed to board.
Where should I stand if I have a reservation and I'm going to Værøy/Røst?
Line up in one of the lanes marked “Værøy/Røst”. A queue attendant will come and scan your ticket.
Which payment methods can I use?
You can pay with AutoPASS, FerryPay, E24, or similar. If you don’t have a toll tag, you can pay by card.
What happens if there’s no space on the ferry?
Then you must remain in your vehicle. The queue attendants will redirect the queue to ensure you keep your place and, hopefully, get on the next departure.
What should I do if I have a pet in my vehicle?
Your pet can either stay in the vehicle during the crossing or be placed in a crate in the ferry’s dog room.
Do I need to register using the QR code at the quay?
Yes, all passengers who have not pre-booked a ticket must register using the QR code. Scan the code and enter the information for all travelers. The queue attendants will then scan this code before boarding.
Where should I stand if I’m riding a motorcycle?
Motorcycles board first, so you should position yourself in front of the cars in the queue.
